Looking For Inspiration? Check Out Three Wheeled Buggies

Three Wheeled Buggies

If you're seeking a buggy to jog with or just a nifty stroller to tackle strolls around the neighborhood, three-wheeled buggies offer great mobility. Their compact design allows them to be maneuvered easily, even in tight spaces.

For an easy ride, opt for a pram fitted with air-filled tyres. Look for models with an swivel wheel that rotates 360 degrees in front. However, they are susceptible to punctures, so make sure you are prepared with an repair kit.

Sturdy frame

Recent figures have been released revealing that the three-wheeled vehicle which was a symbol of the decade of more money than wisdom is in a decline. Four-wheelers have replaced them, and are more flexible and simple to drive, while also looking elegant.

The general idea is that the bigger the wheels are, the easier it'll be for your buggy to deal with bumpy ground and rough pavements. Having larger wheels both front and back makes it easier to maneuver and more stable when walking downhill or on difficult terrain.

MFM reviewer Kath tried this buggy on the newborn baby and a 3-year-old child and found it to be extremely robust. It was able to handle cobbles, grass, and rough pavements, as well as dirt tracks and kerbs. Kath said that "it is sturdy to push and is very stable when you're on rough terrain. Its tyres (which are inflatable, so require periodic pumping) have suspension built-in, which was very comfortable for my kids.

Another thing to consider is the size and shape. You want the seat to be large enough to allow your child to feel comfortable and allow them to lie down. Certain three-wheel buggies have an option to lie flat completely while others allow the parent to be facing one.

An excellent option for taking on off-road or muddy walks is the Roma Atlas. It can be used as a single unit from birth, and then expands to accommodate two children as your family expands. It is suitable for infants and toddlers until age four and includes a bumper bar, raincover, improved 5-point harness, and a large padded seat unit. The storage options are excellent as well, with a decent-sized basket, zip pockets in the hood and an easy-to-access pouch on the back of the seat unit.

Larger wheels

Larger wheels means that your buggy will have more stability on rough terrain - perfect for buggies that are off-road. Additionally, they help you maneuver the pushchair through narrow spaces. Many three wheeled buggies feature the front wheels that swivel to assist you in maneuvering around tight corners, while others are designed for running and come with fixed front wheels that lock to increase the speed and stability with which they can be driven. This can also help if you bump into an unintentional tree root or road, as the front wheel will lift up a bit to prevent you from hitting it.

A majority of 3 wheel pushchairs come with air-filled tyres, which means they can handle many different terrains and are far more flexible than 4-wheeler. They are also lighter. However, they're susceptible to punctures so you'll need to keep a repair kit, spare inner tube, and pump on hand.

Mountain Buggy Core, Venicci Carbo and the Venicci Carbo lux are among our top 3-wheelers. Both of these buggies have larger wheels that, as per MFM reviewer Kath, "perform really well on gravel tracks, grass and market town cobbles" and are able to effortlessly go up and down kerbs. They also have a suspension system that, in her words "smoothes out bumps with great efficiency".

Buggies with larger wheels may be quite wide and may struggle to fit into narrow spaces. This is an issue if you plan to use it as a jogger or have to squeeze through doorways that are narrow when traveling. Luckily, most models have small folding options that allow you to take off the front wheels to create more compact storage.

Easy to  3 wheeler pushchair  of the primary benefits of a three-wheel buggy is that it is much more maneuverable particularly with a child in the back. They are designed so that the front wheels rotate at a moment's notice, and are easy to move, making them ideal for difficult terrain like parks, cobblestones, bumpy roads, and dirt tracks.

MFM reviewer Kath tried an all-wheeler with her toddler, and she reported: "The Terrain is a pleasure to drive on rough terrain. The swivel wheel front was particularly helpful." I was also impressed with how well it dealt with the kerbs, particularly when using the brake operated by hand. I found it extremely stable when going downhill or over uneven ground."

The only drawback to this amazing maneuverability is that the 3 wheel buggy's bigger wheels sometimes mean that it can be difficult to maneuver in tight spaces - something to be aware of when you live in a metropolitan area. If this is a concern then a 4-wheeler might be better for you.

MFM reviewer Kath found it coped really well with grass and cobbles and is a great option for jogging thanks to its lockable swivel front wheel and air-filled tyres.

Kath the MFM reviewer, also adored the roominess of the buggy. There's an easily accessible, large basket that is quite spacious for a buggy that's this big. Plus, there's also a handy pouch on the back unit, as well as two smaller mesh pockets beneath the hood, where you can keep your keys and phone.
